BOBBY RYAN IS EVERYONE’S FAVOURITE CAT LADY
The Identity Project by Sarah Deragon
What (if anything) did this series reveal to you about the labels we choose for ourselves?
One thing that has been really fascinating to me is how labels change over time. In fact, when I look at the history of the labels I’ve used to define myself, it was quite a journey. When I came out, I was a lesbian and then I was queer and then I was femme and then I was a glitter femme and now I’m a queer femme. I imagine that my labels might change again in the next 10 years and I love how the words that I’ve used to define myself mark my personal queer history. This project reminds us that we’re always growing and changing. Finding words that resonate with who we are or what we’re attracted to is powerful.(source)

erikkwakkel: Medieval skull clasp
You are looking at a tiny book, no larger than an iPhone. Made c. 1500, it was designed for the road: it concerns a portable Book of Hours (or prayer book) that was carried around by a pilgrim on his religious pilgrimage. The object’s size is, of course, not what makes this medieval manuscript stand out. That honour must go to the clasp that holds the book closed, which is decorated with a skull carved out of bone. The theme of this decoration is very fitting for a pilgrim seeking redemption, finding his way along the dusty roads of medieval Europe. Every time he sat down to open his book he was confronted with his future, which looked rather grim: remember you will die one day. Better smarten up and keep on going. And that is what he did.

arthur & merlin; BBC Merlin
DOOOONEEEEEE. Bigger version with the two pics combined are over at my deviantart.
One of the wip stuff from last time. I finally finally decided to just get it over with. Everything started to look really wonky after working on this for so long (like, their faces. Oh man, how I angsted over their faces). And I missed the anniversary of the finale.
Wanted Merlin looking unabashedly magic and Arthur being utterly captivated in return. Pfffhhh. /flings self off the battlements
Bit of a fantasy-AU, I guess. Originally intended this to be accompanied by some (possibly very corny) epic-fantasy type of lines but that’s probably a terrible idea, idk. Feel free to imagine the exchange. Maybe Arthur thinks he’s really suave at this flirting thing but he really isn’t, lol.
Done with markers, touch-ups and textures in SAI + Photoshop.
For Laura and Phil, because I love them and since it has been Phil’s B-Day some days ago and Laura had a B-Day in April, this was loooong overdue. LADIES, you’re still fabulous. ♥♥
I know, blahblah, boring floating poses, "Think of something new, Sanne!", but I kinda adore the crap out of this anyway. HERPDERP.
So much for “I don’t wanna draw anymore.”WELL, uuuh…. from now on, I don’t wanna draw anymore. 8I
